Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto St. , Barks & Books at 4pm today in the main library and Steam Club at 6pm today.

Dinner drive thru

Concord United Methodist Church will be hosting a Chicken Pasta Dinner from 4-7 p.m. today at 2963 State Route 560 in Urbana.

Dinner includes homemade noodles with chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and dessert. The cost is a donation.

Community Kitchen

The Central Community Kitchen will be taking place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at High Street United Methodist Church, 230 E. High St. It serves warm meals indoors.

Special Olympics Open Gymnasium

Special Olympics will host a gym open to all athletes from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at The Ability Builders, 4105 S. Charleston Pike.

Athletes under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or caregiver.

A virtual family history event

For those curious about how to research family history, the Heritage Center is holding a virtual program, Tracing Your Family Roots: Where to Begin, at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on Zoom.

Flossie and Bob Hulsizer will join the Clark County Division of the Ohio Genealogical Society to share information on how to locate local resources and use online sources to trace heritage. They’ll show you how to use the many resources available at the Heritage Center such as vital records (birth, death, and marriage), photos, city directories, land records, and more. They’ll also point you in the right direction of how to conduct your search in other local places in other counties and states and share tips and tricks for getting around search pitfalls and dead ends.

Sing and smile story hour

The Clark County Public Library will host a Sing and Smile Story at 10 a.m. Thursday at 201 S. Fountain Ave.

This story hour takes place on the second Thursday of every month for stories, songs and sensory activities designed for adults with special needs and their caregivers.

Effective community appreciation

Urbana & Darby Dental Smiles will be hosting a Community Appreciation Day from 5-7pm Thursdays at Urbana Dental Smiles.

The event will include food and beverages from Urbana Brewing Co. Free prizes and the chance to tour the offices and meet the staff.
